UGH

For the fisrt time Jake finally slept from 1am to 8am. The bad thing? I was up from 2am till 630am with a terrible migraine. I didnt have any of my meds either since I have not yet been back to the dr to have them filled since before I found out I was preg. I think I will be going back and asking for more axert just in case that happens again. i am hoping Jake will sleep that long again so I can sleep that long.

Today I went through and cleaned out the toy box and got rid of all the broken toys and all the happy meal toys. That only took me about 2 hours. I hate doing that, it seems like such a chore. Now I just need to go through all their books and get rid of the ones with pages torn out. Then I need to go through their clothes and get rid of all the ones that either don't fit or they don't wear anymore. Can you tell I am spring cleaning? Or in the mood to spring clean lol.



Tomorrow Lexi has a field trip to go and see the floats that will be in the mardi gras parade. After that she will go eat at Catfish Cabin for lunch. Then I will have to check her out cause she has an appointment in Shreveport to see a team of drs for her speech problem. We have been trying to pinpoint this for about 2 years now so hopefully these new drs will be able to help. Our ped has done refered her to several diff drs and they just refer us to other places so in other words we have been getting the run around for 2 years. We are finally getting somewhere though. After her appt. we may just stop by KMart since we no longer have one here. Oh and this will be the first time I will be away from Jake for that long of a time. My mom took off work so that she can stay home with the other 4 kids. I will go crazybeing away from jake for sooo long.

Tired

I'm here. I have been busy. This sleeping for 3-4 hours a night is starting to catch up with me. We went to the nuero on Thursday and still do not know anything, Glenwood gave me a copy of his mri on a cd to take with me to Dr. Pena and when he tried too look at it his comouter would not open it. So now I have to wait to the hospital to send his ped a report and the ped to send it to Dr. Pena. I am geting tired of waiting, I just want answers.
Jake is getting sick again. I just hope he gets over it quickly. On top of him not feeling well he has had colic soo bad. I feel so bad for him.

Been busy

I have been so busy I have not had time to update. Jakes mri came back and all Dr Bimle seen was that he had a double ear infection and fluid on his years. I am not sure how he got an ear infection while going through 6 rounds of antibitoics. We go back to the neuro on Thursday so maybe Dr Pena can tell us something.
Jake got his 2 mo shots yesterday. He of course did not like them at all. He ran fever most of the night from them. Today he has slept most of the day. The lil man is growing so fast. Yesterday he weighed in at 11lbs 10oz and was 21 3/4 inches long. He is still in newborn clothes, the 0-3mo fall off him still. He is still in newborn diapers the 1s are a tad to big still.
Ansleigh's best friend is moving in a few days back to cali, so she is upset. I told her we would get some envelopes and put her address and stamps on them to give to Kendal that way she could write to her.
Lexi is still her wild self. Always bouncing around with a smile on her face.
Taylor is doing good in school and Nathan well he's still being a typical 2yo boy.

Still here

We are still here in the hospital. Jake seems alot better. He has had 6 rounds of rocephin and has done breathing treatments every 4 hours. He had his MRI earlier today and we are waiting for results on that. As soon as those come back we will get to go home finally. I really hate waiting.

Jakes in the hospital

Here we are again sitting in the hospital. Jake has pneumonia now. He was started on antibiotics and he seems to be doing a little better today. Hes coughing up some of the junk in his lungs so thats a plus. Hes still not eating well, but I guess that is expected since he feels like crap. I am still waiting on the dr to come by today so if i find anything else out I will update again later.

Happy New Year

First I want to say HAPPY 2008!!!!!!
My new years was ok. I stayed up till midnight playing Clue with Aaron and my mom. Then they went to sleep and I came online. Nothing exciting. The pic is Jakes first pic in 2008.
Jake is sick again. Started out as a cough and it has gotten alot worse and he is so congested that he has a really hard time breathing especially when he sleeps and eats. So I took him to the dr first thing yesterday morning and they tested him for RSV that came back neg and they they did blood work and that came back with some questionable white blood cells so he goes back tomorrow to get rechecked. Which is a good thing cause he's getting worse. Hes sleeping alot and not hardly eating. Normally he eats 4oz every 2- 2 1/2 hours and now hes eating 2oz every 6 or so hours. His cough is just so horrible when he starts coughing he cant catch his breath. Hopefully they will give him something tomorrow to clear his congestion up. I just wish Jake would get well and stay well.

Jake went to the neurologist

Jake went to the neurologist today. He said that Jake is having abnormal sharp electrical waves on the right side of his brain. He said this is associated with seizures. He was put on Phenbarbitol (sp) and also has a MRI scheduled for next Friday. We go back to see the neuro on the 17th. Thats all I know now.

I am glad christmas is finally over. No more shopping trying to find the right gift. Ansleigh woke me up at 3 am Christmas morning crying so hard that her ear hurt. I gave her some Motrin and some earache drops and her ear finally stoped hurting. I felt so bad for her, I have never heard her cry like that. Then at 7 am Lexi started puking and puked all day. She must have puked atleast 30 some odd time if not more. I was afraid she would get dehydrated since she couldnt even keep water down. She finally stopped puking around 4 am this morning and hasnt since, but now she is running a fever and still doesnt feel good. She feels so bad she still hasnt even played with any of her new toys. I am hoping she gst over it soon.

Tomorrow is the day we go to the neurologist. I am hoping to have some answers tomorrow, but i have a feeling I wont get any that they will want to run more test on him. I will update tomorrow sometime after we get back. Just give us some good luck vibes that we will get some answers.

Very busy day. I said this year I was gonna be done shopping before Christmas Eve so that I wouldn't be out with all the madness. And where do you think I was at 7 am this morning? At

Walmart getting the last few gifts and groceries I needed. Then I have been wrapping ALL day. After wrapping and cleaning and feeding the kids we took them out to see the live Nativity here in town, then went to Kiroli to let them see the lights. They had a blast. When we got home they were allowed to open 1 gift the pj tradition. They put there new pjs on and then they went out and spread reindeer food out all over the front yard. Then they made Santa his plate of cookies and milk and they went straight to bed. They havent made a peep since. I am now sitting here relaxing waiting to put out Santa stuff. I am so tired. Tomorrow will be a busy day and I know I will be tired again and will be ready for bed by 9 AM lol. I know the kids will be up by 5 am just to what Santa brought. I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas

Long Day

It's been a long day. Got the kids up and off to school and then turned on cartoons for Nathan to watch. I fed Jake and watched some cartoons with Nate. Then when Aaron came home for lunch I had him help me give Jake a bath then while he was eating lunch I jumped in the shower. After he left I had to get Nate and Jake ready to leave. Lexi's school party was at 12:30 and we were going. We went to her party and she had fun, so did Nathan. After the party was over we came home and Lexi went through her goody bag and her and Nate ate some candy and of course made a big mess. The other kids got home around 3:20 and they also went through their goody bags and ate some of their candy. I then sent them out to play while I cleaned up some.

When Aaron got home from work I went with my mom Christmas shopping again. I think I will definatley be done tomorrow. I have to get Ansleigh 1 more thing, Lexi 2 more things, Taylor 1 more and Nate 2 more and I will be done with them. I also have to get Ansleighs best friend something. After I get those few things I should be done, finally.

After we finished Christmas shopping I had to stop and get a few groceries, I was almost out of milk and bottled water and a few other things. Then I finally came home and ate something and now I am sitting here on the computer. As soon as Jake east around 11pm I am gonna try and go to sleep for a while. Hopefully anyway.

Boring day

Nathan stayed home sick from daycare again today. He's still running a fever even with motrin. He also has gunky eyes. You can tell he doesnt feel good. His speech therapist came today and he did great for her. Acted just fine while she was here. She brought him a Christmas gift, a diego jeep with diego. He did all he was suppose to with her. When she left he went back to feeling bad, so he acted anyway. He didnt eat but a couple bites of dinner. I hope he feels better tomorrow. We have lots to do. All 3 girls have Christmas parties at school and I need to go out tomorrow and finish my Christmas shopping so I can sit at home this weekend while the mad rush is out doing last minute shopping. I need to sit down and make a list of what i got the kids and what i still need to get them. And there are a couple more people i need to buy for besides the kids. Christmas is coming up to quick. Before it seemed like it was so far away and I had plenty of time to shop, now it's to close and i need more time lol. Oh well i will hopefully finish tomorrow.

So tired today

Today Lexi had her school program and Christmas dinner. The food was ok and the program was cute. They sang a couple songs. Lexi was the reindeer Cupid. While I was at the program daycare called and Nathan was running a fever and puking so I had my mom pick him up and meet me at home and watch him till I could get there. Poor baby feels bad. He laid around most of the afternoon and he ran fever all day even after i gave him some motrin. Lexi is also getting sick, she has been coughing pretty good all day. Jake is still running a fever also it stayed between 99.4 and 99.7 today. This is week 5 of fever and I want answers, but of course I get none. I just dont understand how a newborn baby can have so many problems already.
I am so tired lately I really dont know how I am functioning. I hardley get any sleep. Jake is up every 2 hours and stays up for an hour at a time. I try and rest during the day when he sleeps, but I have things I have to get done, so most of the time it's impossible. Then the kids get home from school and then I get real busy with homework and dinner and bath and bed time. It's all just wearing me out. I can't wait till Jake starts sleeping all night.

I finally have most of my Christmas shopping done. I went today and picked up a few more things for the kids. I also went and picked up Ansleigh her cell phone and had it activated. Now she will have her own cell phone. She is gone with friends every weekend and now I will be able to get a hold of her when I need to. Ansleigh told me this year that Santa was fake and that she didnt believe in him anymore. I tried to convince her otherwise, but she knows. It's kind of disappointing when your child doesnt believe anymore, but i knew it would happed soon since she is 9.
Anyway all the kids are doing good. Taylor made a 100 in conduct this week so thats a plus. Lexi went to her first birthday party through a school friend. The party was at Excalibur and she had a blast even though it was raining and she didnt get to ride the go karts. Nathan is his usual boy self. Hes learning to talk sentences finally. Hes still in speech working on all that and is come a long way so far.

The last couple days have been busy for me. Thursday I had my school Christmas party and even though I was on leave of absence I went and took Jake with me. I probably should have stayed home cause Jake was passed around alot, which I figured he would be. He is now starting to get sick. Everyone up there just adored Jake and a few even said now they wanted another baby lol. There's something about holding a newborn that gives people baby fever.

Anyway Thursday night i stayed home for once. I had Aaron take Lexi to her dance class. The first time he has taken her by the way. He wouldnt do it before cause he was embarassed and thought he would be the only guy in a dance studio, I had to convince him that there are other fathers that take their girls. I am glad he finally took her, it gave me a small break cause he also took Nathan with him. Then my mom took Ansleigh and Taylor Christmas shopping, so I only had Jake at home. I still didnt get much accomplished since Jake was fussy that night.
Friday night Ansleigh went to a friends and stayed the night and Taylor, Lexi and Nate went to stay the night with my dad. Aaron stayed home with Jake since he is getting sick and me and my mom went to eat at Pizza Hut in Monroe and then went to Target for some Christmas shopping and also went by the Dollar Tree looking for a stocking for Jake and some Dora stickers. Lexi wants a Dora flashlight from Santa and i have been all over West Monroe and Monroe looking for a dang Dora flashlight. I have yet to find one so i am gonna buy one and decorate it with Dora stickers and she will never know the differance. We then went to Blockbuster looking for the Cars movie for Nathan since he loves cars and he has never seen the movie. We rented a movie and went home and watched it. It was a good funny movie. I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry is the name of it ( I think). We laughed at most of it. We finally went to bed about 2 am. Jake woke up at 5 am and here i am after feeding him holding him and typing this hoping he will soon go back to sleep.

Today we have alot to do. Two of the kids have birthday parties at the same time and across town. One is at skatetown and the other is at Excalibur. I guess i will be taking one and Aaron will take the other. I also need to go buy gifts for the parties still. Then I need to do some major cleaning out of the house. At least start on it. There is so much crap i need to get rid of and I keep putting it off. I am hoping to get it all done before Christmas. Ok well I'm off to see if I can get him to lay down, now that i have been here for 30 min typing. It's not to easy to type fast when hold a baby.

Update on Jake

Where to start. So much has happened that i havent had time to keep up with this dern blog, but now i am back and will keep up as I can. Let me back up to when Jake was 8 days old he started running a low grade temp. I didnt think much of it right then. The next day he was still running a low grade temp but a lil higher now it was going between 99.6-100.3, so i decided to call his pedi. I made him an appt for that day. We went in and they checked him over at that point still had a fever. She couldnt find anything else wrong with him and decided she wanted him admitted to the hospital for testing to make sure he didnt have a bacterial infection. So Jake was admitted and they did a spinal tap on him poor baby i felt so bad, and also did a blood culture on him. They started him on antibiotics just incase he had a bacterial infection. Well the spinal tap came back ok and the blood culture never grew anything so we were released 3 days later. He was still running a temp, but pedi said it was probably a viral infection and had to run its course.
A couple days later i noticed Jake's arms and legs going limp quite a bit every day, but once again didnt think nothing of it thinking it was just a sleepy newborn thing, even though i didnt remeber my other 4 doing that. He seemed fine so we went about our day each time. Well he continued to do this and so i asked a few people including and RN at my school and they all said it could be seizures. So of course i freaked and called the pedi right away and they had me take him to a walk in clinic cause they had no appts left. So we went there and they evaluated him and call our pedi and sent us there. So we go to our pedi and she evaluates him and said she also thinks he is having seizures and once again we are amitted to the hospital for testing, mind you he is still running a fever from the first time. So we get the hospital and the do an EEG on him. We are there for 3 days. He ran fever the whole time we were there every time they took his vitals he had a temp. The rn said they could be linked to the seizures if he is having seizures. It took over a week to get the EEG results back. We just got them back Monday and they came back showing several abnomalities. So now we have an appt with a neurologist on the 27th. My lil man has already gone through so much and is only 5 weeks old. I am a nervous wreck cause I dont even know whats wrong with him and it may take months to find out. I doubt i will find much out when we go see the neuro in 2 weeks. Of course i have been doing reading online and i need to stop that cause it just makes me worry worse. Anyway i will try to keep everyone updated on Jake through here. I must go now and finish dinner for my other kiddos.
